These include substantial losses stemming from the collapse of the Terra network in May 2022, which resulted in a $16.4 million depletion of the DAO's treasury assets. Additionally, challenges were compounded by the collapse of the Multichain protocol and a significant hack that targeted HectorDAO's treasury, further exacerbating its financial instability.

The filing highlights a January 16 hack that drained $2.7 million from HectorDAO's funds, prompting an investigation into potential internal involvement by former treasury managers. The DAO had initially faced difficulties following the Terra ecosystem collapse but continued operations until July 17, 2023, when members voted decisively, with 83% opting to liquidate under the HIP-42 vote.

Following the liquidation decision, a committee was established to manage the distribution of remaining assets to investors. However, the process was disrupted by the $2.7 million exploit, leading to allegations of negligence against the management team and suspicions of their role in the hack. Subsequently, the Hector community demanded the transfer of remaining funds to Interpath Advisory for impartial handling.
