The Players Involved

1) Miners: These are the computing powerhouses of the Bitcoin network. They compete to solve cryptographic puzzles, and the winner gets to add a block of verified transactions to the public ledger – the blockchain.

2) Nodes: These are computers running Bitcoin software that distribute and verify transactions throughout the network. There are two main types:

Full Nodes: Download and store the entire blockchain, making them the most secure validators.
Lightweight Nodes: Verify transactions but don't store the entire blockchain, making them faster but less secure.

The Validation Process

1) Transaction Broadcast: When you initiate a Bitcoin transaction, it's broadcast to the entire network.

2) Transaction Pool: The transaction enters a waiting pool until a miner picks it up.

3) Miner Verification: Miners include the transaction in a block along with other pending transactions. They then validate the transaction by checking:

Valid Signatures: Cryptographic signatures ensure the sender has the private key associated with the Bitcoin being spent.
Sufficient Funds: The sender has enough Bitcoin in their account to cover the transaction amount.
Double-Spending Prevention: The same Bitcoin isn't being spent in multiple transactions.

5) Network Confirmation: Other nodes verify the miner's work and the block is added to the blockchain. With each subsequent block added, the transaction becomes more confirmed.
