Jane Street Capital has amassed a significant amount of Coinbase stock. According to financial intelligence platform Fintel, Jane Street owned 5.3% of Coinbase’s outstanding shares in February.

This equated to a value of $1.4 billion when Coinbase was priced at $140.86 per share during the company’s 13G filing on Feb. 9. With Coinbase's current share price at $236.40, those same shares are now valued at approximately $2.4 billion. It's unclear if Jane Street's holdings have changed since February.

Jane Street's current holdings mark an increase from previous months, as indicated by Yahoo! Finance, which showed Jane Street held just 1.92% of outstanding shares in December, valued at $888 million. Jane Street is now among the largest investors in Coinbase, although Vanguard Group exceeds its holdings with 7.44% of outstanding shares in February, according to Fintel.

Other significant investors in Coinbase include BlackRock, Nikko Asset Management Americas, Paradigm, and Ark Invest. Jane Street's investment in Coinbase is notable given its status as a major trading firm and one of the largest market makers. Institutional investors are increasingly interested in cryptocurrencies, especially with the SEC's approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs.

Companies like BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale have seen growing interest in their spot Bitcoin ETFs, with the market capitalization of these ETFs surpassing $58 billion in less than four months of trading. BlackRock’s IBIT has particularly performed well, recording inflows for 70 consecutive trading days and becoming one of the best performing ETF launches in history.
