Konza Technopolis in Nairobi - Kenya - is set to host speakers and experts from around the globe to the 41^st International Association of Science Parks (IASP) World Conference from the 24^th – 27^th of September 2024 to discuss the impact that changing demographics can have on entrepreneurship and technology while exploring ways to combat the global challenges the world is facing today.

The four – day conference, whose main theme is “Demographics, entrepreneurship and technology: defining the frontiers of future economies,” is thereby calling all innovators to submit their groundbreaking ideas on demographics, entrepreneurship and technology, by Wednesday - the 27^th of March 2024.

The convention is designed to delve deeper into engaging discussions including but not limited to Privacy and Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Innovative Finance, IP Monetization, Technology in Education and Green Financing for sustainable development.

The Theme.

According to UN estimates, there will be 1.3 billion people in the globe between the ages of 15 and 24 by 2030. The most youthfully populated regions are best positioned to take advantage of substantial prospects, including growing their proportion of the global workforce, promoting innovation, accelerating economic growth, and tapping into new domestic consumer markets.

With 40% of its population under 15, Africa has the youngest population in the world, and this trend is expected to continue long past 2050. This demographic dividend offers opportunities for increased labor supply, innovation, and consumer potential, but it also brings with it certain difficulties.

The theme, which explores the role of science parks and innovation hubs in helping regions like Africa harness the potential of their growing youth demographic, entrepreneurship, and technology for economic growth, is especially relevant, as the 41^st IASP World Conference returns to Africa for the first time since 2008. It also addresses the issues raised by an increasingly aging global population. In order to guarantee that there is a large enough pool of talent, enough creativity, and a strong enough technological foundation to support the global economy, the theme thus calls upon the world to consider important aspects of global collaboration.

About the local host.

As the centerpiece of Kenya's Vision 2030 economic development agenda, Konza Technopolis was established in 2009 with the goal of becoming an ambitious smart city with a thriving innovation environment.

Konza provides technology-based training to young people in the area with the goal of developing a tech-savvy community that will promote creativity and create job possibilities. After the success of their recent Kids Tech Boot Camp, which introduced kids to technology in an effort to spark their interest in robotics and software development, they are now attempting to incorporate it into the curriculum of the schools.

IASP is an independent non-profit NGO managed by experts in science and technology parks, that coordinates an active network of managers of areas of innovation, science parks, research parks, innovation districts, knowledge cities and other innovation spaces.
