Kia America, an automobile manufacturer, launched its first NFTs in February. Since then, the company has helped fund 22,000 pet shelters. Kia set a valuable goal to support an NGO in alleviating overcrowded animal shelters by auctioning robotic puppy-themed NFTs, raising $100,000 for The Petfinder.

Key campaign achievements include:

- The digital collectibles sold on the Sweet NFT marketplace on launch day generated $100,000.

- Tezos blockchain offered 10,000 ‘adoption pass’ NFTs in a free mint.

- A week later, 10,000 generative versions were sold to coincide with the NBA All-Star game on February 18th.

- Various rarer NFTs also contributed to raising six-digit funds.

Kia America's vice president, Russell Wager, emphasized the importance of The Petfinder Foundation during the pandemic. He noted that while pet adoptions increased, many pets were still being surrendered to shelters as people returned to work. The project aimed to help more pets find homes, similar to Robo Dog in their Super Bowl ad.

Kia's NFT collection demonstrates a major brand entering the Web3 space to support welfare initiatives, illustrating that the NFT industry has room for non-profit projects alongside profitable ones.
