Kiln, a leading institutional crypto staking platform, has introduced liquid staking token (LST) restaking on EigenLayer directly through Kiln’s Ledger Live decentralized application (dApp), marking a significant milestone in the realm of hardware wallet staking integration.

In a statement provided to The Block, Kiln announced that for the first time, Ledger's extensive user base of over 1.5 million users will have the ability to restake LST on EigenLayer seamlessly within the Ledger Live interface. Kiln's Co-Founder and CEO, Laszlo Szabo, emphasized the simplicity of the process, asserting that users can complete the restaking procedure in less than a minute to receive rewards.

Moreover, Kiln highlighted that the integration offers enhanced security features, including clear-signing via Kiln’s Ledger Nano plugin, which has undergone rigorous review by Ledger's security team. Clear-signing ensures that blockchain messages or transactions are human-readable and verifiable, adding an extra layer of transparency and trust to the staking process.

Jean-Francois Rochet, Vice President of Consumer Services at Ledger, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, affirming Ledger's commitment to providing its customers with access to the best third-party services in the crypto ecosystem. With LST staking through Kiln now available on Ledger Live, users have expanded opportunities to engage with their digital assets directly from their Ledger hardware wallets.

Additionally, users can leverage the integration to accrue EigenLayer restaking points and actively validated service (AVS) rewards by depositing LSTs into EigenLayer. EigenLayer, a versatile platform enabling the deposit and restaking of ether from various liquid staking tokens, has attracted significant attention since its launch in 2023, amassing over $18 billion in ether deposits to secure diverse protocols.

Kiln, an established operator on EigenLayer, has been actively involved in securing mainnet AVSs since the platform's launch, further cementing its position as a key player in the staking ecosystem. The recent introduction of claims for EigenLayer's native tokens signals further growth opportunities for users, enabling them to participate in staking activities and contribute to the network's security.

In January, Kiln raised $17 million in a funding round led by 1kx, with support from prominent investors such as Crypto.com, IOSG, and LBank, underscoring investor confidence in Kiln's mission and global expansion endeavors.
