Nexo, alongside more than 35 prominent players in the crypto sphere, is spearheading a global initiative to secure an official Bitcoin emoji, aiming to garner 50,000 endorsements worldwide.

The joint effort, dubbed "Bitcoin Deserves an Emoji," was launched on April 2, with a significant surge in support seen within the first week, with over 10,000 signatories. The petition targets the Unicode Consortium, the authority responsible for standardizing emojis across digital platforms.

Among the notable organizations lending their support to the campaign are Brink, Bitget, Chainalysis, Kraken, Polygon, Brave, and BTC Inc.

Kosta Kantchev, Nexo's co-founder and executive chairman, emphasized Bitcoin's widespread adoption and market dominance, underscoring the necessity for a universally recognizable symbol on all digital keyboards. He highlighted the overwhelming presence of Bitcoin, with over 1.26 billion total addresses and a vast global community of professionals and tech pioneers pushing for its recognition.
