Marathon Digital, a major Bitcoin miner, has revised its hash rate target for the fiscal year to 50 EH/s, as stated on April 25. Initially planning a 46% increase in mining capacity to around 37 EH/s, the company now expects a 100% boost in mining power to reach 50 EH/s by year-end, fueled by its recent acquisition of a 200-megawatt Bitcoin mining center from Digital Applied.

Fred Thiel, Marathon’s Chairman and CEO, is confident in achieving this new target, citing the recent acquisition as providing additional hash rate access. Thiel emphasized that the growth target is fully funded, with no need for additional capital, and highlighted plans to enhance fleet efficiency using advanced equipment and proprietary technology.

Despite Bitcoin's mining difficulty increase of 2% on April 24, the company remains committed to its expansion plans, undeterred by potential challenges posed by mining profitability fluctuations caused by halvings.
