Marathon Digital's Ambitious Strategy

As we enter 2024, Marathon Digital is projected to possess a total hash rate of around 24.7 exahash per second (EH/s) across its mining facilities. Initially targeting a 46% increase in hash rate to reach 35-37 EH/s, the company's plans have evolved due to enhanced machine orders and capacity from recent acquisitions. Consequently, Marathon Digital now envisions achieving a fully funded hash rate of approximately 50 EH/s by the conclusion of 2024.

Fred Thiel, Marathon's CEO, is confident in the company's ability to double its mining operations this year, aiming for a 50 exahash hash rate by year-end. This growth is facilitated by recent acquisitions and the capacity provided by current machine orders. While concerns persist regarding miner revenue impacts, some miners are experiencing record-high U.S. dollar revenue levels, bolstering their financial positions post-halving. Rising Mining Difficulty and Transaction Fees

Recent data shows a 2% increase in Bitcoin mining difficulty, reaching an all-time high. Unlike previous halving events, the hash rate has remained strong post-halving, supported by increased transaction fee rewards.
