Crypto expert Michael Van de Poppe recently forecasted significant gains for altcoins, providing a timeline for these movements and their potential intensity.

Altcoins Expected to Surge in the Summer

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Van de Poppe stated that altcoins are poised for an upward trend from late June to September or October. He suggested that these altcoins would rebound to their normal values, recovering from the significant declines they've experienced since the beginning of the year.

Factors Influencing Altcoin Movements

Van de Poppe has consistently emphasized the undervaluation of altcoins and previously predicted substantial moves in their Bitcoin pairs post-halving. He also anticipated a shift in focus to Ethereum, believing it would lead other altcoins into the altcoin season. He suggested that the initiation of Spot Ethereum ETFs could trigger this altcoin season, aligning with Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas' prediction that these ETFs would start trading around late June.

Positioning for Altcoin Season

Van de Poppe revealed that he had strategically positioned himself for this altcoin season by swapping his Bitcoin holdings for altcoins. He recently adjusted his altcoin portfolio to maximize his return on investment (ROI), expressing confidence in a strong altcoin rally. He also listed ten undervalued tokens he expects to perform well, including Chainlink (LINK), Celestia (TIA), Arbitrum (ARB), Polkadot (DOT), and Cosmos (ATOM).

Timing Ahead of Altcoin Season

Crypto analyst Lark Davis suggested that it might be time to "go down the risk curve" and position early for the altcoin season. He referenced data from Blockchain Center, indicating that it is not yet altcoin season, as only 12 of the top 50 coins by market cap have outperformed Bitcoin over the past 90 days. Blockchain Center defines altcoin season as occurring when 75% of these top coins outperform Bitcoin during this period.
