This sizable Bitcoin transfer has drawn considerable attention. As per Arkham Intelligence, one of the new addresses, bc1q8yj, received Bitcoin valued at $5.03 billion, while addresses bc1q6m5 and bc1q592 obtained $561.46 million and $488.40 million worth of Bitcoin, respectively. Notably, bc1q592 has since relocated those funds.

The transfer coincided with a period of heightened institutional interest in Bitcoin, preceding the imminent Bitcoin halving event scheduled for late April, which will halve block rewards. A co-founder of the D8X decentralized exchange and former executive director at UBS noted that despite Bitcoin's price reaching an all-time high before a halving event for the first time in history, the forthcoming reduction in supply issuance is not yet fully reflected in the price.

The movement of over $6 billion in Bitcoin occurred just two days after the cryptocurrency surpassed the psychological price level of $70,000 for the first time in 10 days on March 25. Concurrently, investors continue to accumulate Bitcoin off exchanges, with the Bitcoin supply on Coinbase hitting a nine-year low of 344,856 bitcoins on March 18.

According to Dune, Bitcoin ETF funds now hold a total of $58.3 billion in chain assets, representing 4.17% of the current Bitcoin supply.
