Max Keiser, who advises President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador on Bitcoin (BTC) matters, has publicly criticized Argentina's President Javier Milei for his approach to cryptocurrencies, labeling Milei's economic strategy as a "beginner's error."

Javier Milei, who assumed the Argentine presidency last December, has implemented aggressive economic measures to salvage the nation's crumbling economy and combat the continuous devaluation of the Argentine peso, which has plummeted by 99% against the U.S. dollar since 2008.

Although Milei's embrace of Bitcoin has garnered praise from the broader cryptocurrency community, certain Bitcoin proponents find his stance on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies unsettling. In a recent statement, Max Keiser condemned Milei for blending Bitcoin with other cryptocurrencies.

Notably, Bitcoin maximalists like Keiser argue that Bitcoin stands apart from the broader crypto ecosystem, which contributes to the disapproval of Milei's implicit dissenting stance. This sentiment was reflected in the recent economic policy of the country.

According to a report from crypto.news on April 2, Argentina's securities regulator, the Comisión Nacional de Valores, introduced new regulations requiring the mandatory registration of all entities operating as Virtual Assets Services Providers within the country.

This new regulation impacts entities involved in providing or receiving crypto-related services, including activities such as buying, selling, trading, and transmitting crypto tokens. Critically, the legislation encompasses Bitcoin activities as well, drawing criticism from individuals like Keiser.

Keiser argued that the Argentine president's decision to categorize Bitcoin within the broader crypto ecosystem is a fundamental error. He asserted that this recent legislation, which grouped Bitcoin with other cryptocurrencies, has significantly hindered Milei's economic reform agenda.

Keiser pointed out that President Bukele of El Salvador demonstrates a deeper understanding of the Bitcoin agenda compared to Milei. For context, El Salvador passed legislation regarding digital asset issuance in January, which encompasses services related to all digital assets except Bitcoin. Bitfinex obtained the first operational license under this law in April.

El Salvador has boldly embraced Bitcoin, becoming the first country to establish the asset as legal tender in 2021. In contrast, despite the peso's decline, Milei has yet to adopt a similar stance. Instead, the Libertarian leader has hinted at the possibility of dollarizing the Argentine economy.
