Gokal stressed the value of accepting the various applications of permissionless systems in a post on X, in spite of traditionalists' reservations.

Gokal remarked, "Meme coins are scaring away serious builders," illustrating the sentiment of the community in the midst of the rise in these kinds of ventures. Still, he didn't waste any time in reminding Buterin of this.

“If you’re fragile enough to get spooked by how young people choose to use permissionless systems to have fun, you will quite simply not make it here,” he remarked.

Meme Coin Builders Are Seriously Competent

In a recent statement, Lily Liu, President at the Solana Foundation, has come forward to support meme coin founders, echoing sentiments expressed by Gokal. Liu emphasized the competence of many meme coin founders, stating that they are “seriously competent builders.”

Liu addressed the doubts people had about meme coins by pointing out that these creators might not be producing "fundamental value"

in the conventional sense of price to earnings ratios. Rather, in the crypto arena, the President of Solana emphasised the significance of communal value.

Furthermore, she claimed that the creators of meme coins are actively building primitives for an economy based on communities that have been "financialized."

Nonetheless, Gokal and fellow creator Anatoly Yakovenko have consistently made an effort to protect the Solana community from such frauds. It was warned not to rely on arbitrary Solana meme coin presales on X.

Although meme coins are promoted, they suggest investors to do extensive study on the project before making a purchase.
