According to data from Etherscan, this operator spent an astounding 210 ETH, equivalent to approximately $810,000, accounting for nearly 1.5% of all gas fees on the network during this period.

This high-frequency trading bot primarily targets on-chain memecoin traders, capitalizing on the recent resurgence of Ethereum memecoins such as Pepe, Wojak, Turbo, and Mog. The bot’s aggressive spending highlights its substantial influence on the network's transaction dynamics.

From February 2023 to June 2024, “jaredfromsubway.eth” has accumulated a total expenditure of 76,916 ETH on gas fees, roughly translating to $175 million based on transaction values at the time. This extensive activity underscores the operator’s persistent engagement in maximizing extractable value from the network.

MEV involves strategies that exploit the order of transactions for profit. One common technique is the sandwich attack, where the bot detects an impending user transaction and places its own transactions with higher gas fees immediately before and after the user’s transaction. This manipulation shifts the cryptocurrency's price, allowing the bot to profit at the user's expense.
