In January, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella informed investors that AI would be the company's primary focus for the year, and the conference's agenda reflects this commitment. Microsoft aims to continue this trend by introducing new AI features for developers, following the company's significant revenue growth from clients using AI models on its Azure public cloud.

Microsoft's AI Feature Release Coincides with Google and OpenAI Updates

On the same day as Microsoft's announcement, Google, Mistral, and OpenAI's Sam Altman released updated versions of their AI models. This comes as the industry prepares for the release of OpenAI's GPT engine's next major version. Facebook's president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, hinted at the release of an upgraded version of Llama, Meta's AI model, sparking a wave of releases.

Clegg also discussed the release of Llama's third iteration at a London event, while Google unveiled Gemini Pro 1.5, a model that requires minimal processing power to accomplish various tasks.
