Argentinian President Javier Milei is set to engage in private meetings with several influential figures, including prominent tech CEOs, during his visit to Silicon Valley in California as part of his tour across the United States. Reports indicate that Milei aims to enhance business relations with Argentina through these interactions.

During a one-hour meeting with Sam Altman, the head of OpenAI and Worldcoin, Milei emphasized "the vast potential of a libertarian Argentina." Alex Blania, co-founder and CEO of Tools for Humanity, a key developer of the Worldcoin project, was also present at the meeting. Notably, this marks Milei's second encounter with Altman and Blania. However, Worldcoin previously faced opposition in Argentina due to political reasons.

Among the tech luminaries scheduled to meet with Milei are Sundar Pichai of Alphabet, Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, and Tim Cook of Apple. Additionally, Milei plans to engage with a group of startup and AI entrepreneurs and deliver a speech at the Pacific Summit.

This marks Milei's fourth visit to the United States since assuming office on December 10. He is accompanied by a delegation of high-ranking officials from Argentina.

In addition to tech leaders, Milei is slated to meet with former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and had discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regarding the Gaza situation on May 28.

The potential for increased high-tech investment could provide a significant boost to Argentina's economy, which has been facing challenges. Despite being a divisive figure domestically, Milei's frequent engagements with business leaders contribute positively to his public image.

Milei initially campaigned as a proponent of cryptocurrency and vowed to dismantle the country's central bank. However, he has faced criticism for not fully delivering on these promises, disappointing some of his supporters.

Nevertheless, on May 23, Argentine and Salvadoran regulators convened to discuss El Salvador's experience with Bitcoin as legal tender. Milei is scheduled to depart from the United States on May 31 to attend Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele's second-term inauguration.
