This dynamic duo aims to transform Turkey into the "Switzerland" of the region for these cutting-edge financial services, as reported by BThaber, a local news outlet.

Taurus boasts an impressive client list including heavyweights like Credit Agricole, Credit Suisse (who, along with Deutsche Bank, are also investors in the company). This partnership empowers Misyon Bank to offer top-notch digital custody solutions to a broad spectrum of institutions – banks, investment firms, brokerages, fintech startups, private wealth managers, and even central banks.

"This collaboration marks a significant step forward for Turkey and the surrounding region," declared Dr. Önder Halisdemir, CEO of Misyon Bank. Their vision? To establish Turkey as the go-to hub for secure digital asset storage and tokenization within the region, mirroring Switzerland's dominance in traditional finance.

Turkey's crypto-asset regulations are nearing the finish line, as recently confirmed by the Finance Minister. The popularity of tokenized funds continues to soar. A report by Moody's, a leading investment risk assessment firm, revealed a staggering increase in the value of tokenized funds – from a mere $100 million at the beginning of 2023 to a whopping $800 million currently. This surge is largely driven by the tokenization of U.S. treasuries.

The report further highlights the growing presence of tokenized assets on both public and private blockchains. Notable examples include Franklin Templeton's U.S. Government Money Fund expanding its reach from Stellar to Polygon, Backed Finance launching a tokenized short-term U.S. treasury bond ETF, and UBS Asset Management deploying a tokenized money market fund (MMF) on the Ethereum blockchain.

According to Moody's, MMF tokenization offers the potential to merge their inherent stability with the technological benefits of stablecoins. The trend continues with DigiFT, a Singaporean fintech company, announcing the launch of US Treasury bill depository receipt (DR) tokens this week. These DR tokens enable fractional ownership, granting investors exposure to the secure US debt market without requiring a large upfront investment.
