MultiversX, a decentralized blockchain network, has teamed up with Cornell University’s eCornell to launch a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing comprehensive blockchain education to underserved college students. Named the Blockchain Essentials Program, this innovative two-month course promises to equip 100 selected students with essential blockchain skills and knowledge, culminating in a certificate upon successful completion.

According to a press release from MultiversX, the program is fully sponsored, ensuring that participating students incur no fees despite the course typically costing $3,750. The curriculum will be delivered online through private cohorts, ensuring personalized instruction and a supportive learning environment characterized by small, instructor-led groups.

A key highlight of the initiative is the opportunity for students to receive ongoing mentorship, support, and potential funding from MultiversX upon completing the program. This support aims to empower students to develop impactful blockchain projects that can benefit their communities.

Scheduled to commence on July 17, 2024, the Blockchain Essentials Program is currently accepting applications until June 23, 2024. Eligible applicants must be current college students with proficiency in English and must demonstrate economic disadvantage. Only 100 applicants will be selected for this unique educational opportunity.

In a parallel development, MultiversX has unveiled "Sovereign Chains," a robust multichain framework designed to significantly enhance transaction throughput in existing layer-2 blockchain networks. Initial demonstrations of Sovereign Chains have showcased a potential increase in transaction throughput and smart contract capabilities by up to 100 times, with ambitions to further elevate this to 100,000 transactions per second (TPS).

The introduction of Sovereign Chains reflects MultiversX's ongoing efforts to push the boundaries of blockchain technology, enhancing scalability and performance to meet the evolving demands of decentralized applications and global blockchain adoption.
