Libre, an institutional Web3 infrastructure platform, has officially debuted its on-chain operations, facilitating the tokenization of alternative assets following a successful cross-chain transaction on Polygon. This milestone, announced on March 19, marks a significant development in the realm of digital asset management.

The collaborative effort behind Libre involves WebN, a web3 incubator hub, and Nomura's digital asset subsidiary, Laser Digital. Earlier this year, Libre partnered with prominent entities like Brevan Howard and Hamilton Lane to focus on tokenizing alternative investments, highlighting its commitment to innovation in the financial sector.

One of Libre's key offerings is granting investors access to esteemed money market funds managed by reputable firms like BlackRock. This feature allows investors to securely park their funds and explore investment opportunities in alternative markets with confidence.

Looking ahead, Libre has plans to expand its services by introducing collateralized lending in collaboration with Nomura's Laser Digital. This strategic move aims to cater to the evolving needs of investors and further enhance Libre's value proposition.

While currently operating on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), Libre has ambitions to integrate with various Layer 1 and Layer 2 protocols through its Libre Gateway, leveraging the Polygon CDK. This integration will facilitate accredited professional and institutional investors' access to Libre's offerings across different networks, including alternative investments and money market funds.
