Notcoin, a play-to-earn game, has donated more than 1 billion NOT tokens, valued around $7 million, to Telegram and its founder, Pavel Durov.

In a social media post dated May 17, the project based on Telegram shared a screenshot displaying its donation and expressed gratitude to the messaging platform and Durov.

The message in the transaction description reads, "Thanks for everything you guys built, from 552568 Notcoin contributors."

This donation follows a previous one initiated by token holders in February, where Notcoin stated:

"There is no shame in standing on the shoulders of giants. Pavel Durov and the Telegram team made Telegram app, set the bar for builders and created a lot of opportunities for everyone, including Notcoin. 552,586 Notcoiners were grateful and sent their 1,030,383,291,362 Notcoin to Pavel’s account."

Notcoin launched as a Telegram Mini App in January and quickly gained popularity, attracting over 35 million players.

Initially, users could mine its in-game currency by tapping a Notcoin icon on their phones. This virtual asset later transitioned into the NOT token distributed to all users in an airdrop on May 16.

The NOT token airdrop encountered challenges, as several Bybit users reported difficulties receiving their airdrops before the market opened.

Bybit CEO Ben Zhou explained the situation, stating that the firm received 370,000 on-chain transactions from Notcoin, which required considerable time to process and reflect balances. He acknowledged the inconvenience, saying:

"We have managed to credit 70% of you before NOTcoin market opens, we should’ve done it better. Sorry to let you all down. We will make sure to never let it happen again."

Since its launch, the value of NOT has decreased significantly, declining over 8% in the past 24 hours to $0.0068 as of the current time.
