Omni launches phase 1 of its mainnet, dubbed Omni Armageddon, marking a significant milestone for the company after a prolonged period of dedicated effort.

Through Omni Armageddon, users gain the opportunity to actively participate in the network by restaking on EigenLayer, allowing for the restaking of various assets like ETH and liquid staking tokens. By allocating restaked assets to support Omni, users contribute to creating a secure and interconnected ecosystem.

To allocate assets to Omni, users need to have restaked assets on EigenLayer and initiate restaking by depositing the permitted asset. Subsequently, they can proceed to the Omni AVS page to select an operator for allocating the restaked assets.

Despite Ethereum's status as the safest and most decentralized smart contract layer, its fragmented rollup space has led to limited user exposure and fragmented liquidity. Omni aims to unify Ethereum by providing a foundation for builders to develop global applications that function across all rollups, restoring utility to Ethereum through a unified and secure service. Users no longer need to use separate rollups for different applications.

This milestone marks a significant moment for Omni and those advocating for a better-connected rollup space. Moving forward, networks will operate seamlessly and securely across multiple platforms. For Omni, this is just the beginning of its mainnet release journey.
