The American arm of crypto exchange Binance, Binance.US, announced it is delisting TRON (TRX) and Spell (SPELL) tokens on April 18, 2023.

Based on our recent review, Spell (SPELL) & TRON (TRX) will be delisted from the platform on April 18, 2023.

The following was announced by Binance U.S.: "On April 18, 2023, at 8 p.m. PDT / 11 p.m. EDT, trading for SPELL and TRX on Binance.US will be closed and the trading pairs for TRX/USD, TRX/USDT, TRX/BTC, SPELL/USD, and SPELL/USDT will be removed."

According to Binance, a variety of variables are taken into account when delisting digital assets, including "changes in a digital asset token's risk profile, regulatory standing in the United States, evidence of unethical/fraudulent conduct or negligence," among other things.

Coincidentally, this month the SEC filed lawsuits against eight celebrities for participating in fraudulent behaviour, including Justin Sun and Akon. Additionally, the defendants are charged with participating in fraudulent behaviour by manipulating the secondary market for TRX through heavy use of wash trading.

According to TRON founder Justin Sun, the effect of the delisting of TRX will be "relatively small." However, following the news, TRX fell more than 3% and is currently trading at $0.06

The staking for TRX will be disabled on April 13, 2023, at 4 AM PDT, and it will be deleted from the staking website on April 14, 2023, at 5 PM PDT.

Binance.US will continue to support TRC-20 USDT and USDC coins produced on the TRON network even after delisting TRX.
