CoinGecko's analysts have unearthed a compelling trend: following each of its previous halving cycles, Bitcoin has witnessed an astonishing surge in value.

According to their comprehensive report, after every instance of halving the mining reward, Bitcoin's rate has, on average, soared by an impressive 3,230%.

The inaugural halving, which occurred on November 28, 2012, saw the mining reward slashed from 50 BTC to 25 BTC. In the subsequent 12 months, Bitcoin's value skyrocketed from $12 to an impressive $1,075, marking an astonishing 8,858% increase. By January 2022, the inflation rate had undergone a significant shift from 25.7% to a mere 12%.

Fast forward to the second halving on July 9, 2016, where the mining reward was halved once again, this time from 25 BTC to 12.5 BTC. This event triggered another bullish rally, with Bitcoin's value surging by 294% over the following year, leaping from $650 to $2,560. The inflation rate of the pioneering cryptocurrency dwindled from 8.7% to a modest 4.1%.

The third halving, which unfolded on May 11, 2020, reducing the block reward to 6.25 BTC, ushered in yet another remarkable surge. Within just one year of the 2020 halving, Bitcoin's value skyrocketed by an impressive 540%, surging from $8,727 to an astonishing $55,847.

Starting the year with a bang, Bitcoin reached new heights, scaling over $73,000, primarily fueled by the fervor surrounding spot Bitcoin ETFs and the optimistic outlook of investors.
