Open Campus plans to release the Open Campus ID, acting as a decentralized identifier (DID), on January 23, 2024, with the aim of connecting a significant number of Open Campus associates' students to Web3 knowledge through the Open Campus Alliance.

The alliance, comprising educational organizations committed to integrating the EDU token and Open Campus initiatives, aims to empower students, instructors, and academic institutions globally by expanding learning opportunities and enabling students to manage education-related data.

With an Open Campus ID, individuals receive a unique .edu identification, initiating decentralized and self-governed storage of their user profiles and academic contributions. Learners can create profiles and learning ideas linked to their .edu identifier, allowing for tailored education exposure, recommended syllabuses, and customized learning paths based on individual needs and preferences.

Open Campus ID will soon be integrated into the learning mechanisms of participating institutions and educational entities affiliated with the Open Campus Alliance, enabling the private release of on-chain authenticable credentials via learner profiles associated with each Open Campus ID.

The Open Campus Alliance currently boasts over 30 educational firms committed to adopting the EDU token and Open Campus products. Open Campus plans to attract a large user base to Open Campus ID by integrating it into the network of companies within the Open Campus Alliance.

Furthermore, the Open Campus Accelerator (OC-X) will allocate US$10 million to onboard an additional 100 learning startups under the Open Campus Alliance and Open Campus ID.
