Demonstrations by the company showcase GPT-4 Omni assisting users with tasks like interview preparation, offering jokes, translating conversations, arbitrating games, and even displaying sarcasm in responses, including interactions with pets like puppies.

The CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, expressed his amazement at the AI's capabilities, likening it to something out of a movie and highlighting the significant leap towards achieving human-like response times and expressiveness. The initial release includes text and image input capabilities, with voice and video functionalities scheduled for future updates, as announced by OpenAI on May 13.

GPT-4o, available to both free and paid ChatGPT users through the API, represents a shift towards more natural human-computer interactions, as indicated by the "omni" in its name.
