OpenSea recently reported selling over 1.3 million Polygon NFTs in December 2022, generating more than 15.3 million dollars from 116,000 active traders.

This was the third-highest month in 2022 for NFTs sold per active trader, with an average of 11.24 NFTs per trader. However, December had the lowest average value per NFT sold at $11.8, compared to $482 in January 2022. Each active trader's average transaction amounted to $133.

Despite strong numbers for Polygon NFTs, OpenSea experienced a 23% drop in market dominance over the year, with the total number of NFT transfers on the platform falling by 25%.

According to Cointelegraph, OpenSea had about 80,000 transfers at the start of 2022, decreasing to 60,000 by December 31, reflecting a 25% decline.

Additionally, OpenSea's market share dropped from 50% to 33% over the past year, and its share of ETH gas usage fell from 20% to 9%.

Nevertheless, the popularity of Polygon NFTs has helped stabilize the platform, and traders are optimistic about OpenSea's potential recovery in the coming months.
