ORIGYN Foundation is delighted to announce its acquisition of CanDB from CanScale, a leading database software provider for the Internet Computer (IC) blockchain. This acquisition enables ORIGYN to make digital certificates searchable across the IC ecosystem.

Moreover, this takeover will foster innovation and foster partnerships within the IC community, paving the way for new decentralized ventures and software development. Developers can enhance their decentralized applications using CanDB without the need for additional funding or commercial licenses.

ORIGYN will introduce the ORIGYN Foundation license (OFSL), a decentralized license for CanDB, aimed at supporting key open-source software projects. This license allows IC projects to seamlessly leverage CanDB software and empower new decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) initiatives toward decentralization, facilitated by the IC's Service Nervous System DAO Creation Tool (SNS). Kinic, a prominent SNS adopter, has already acquired a decentralized license for the CanDB software through ORIGYN.

Utilizing CanDB's technology, ORIGYN will compile a list of its NFT canisters, providing users with a unified and user-friendly interface to explore minted NFTs and products for sale on the ORIGYN network. This integration streamlines user experience and simplifies navigation for investors and Web3 enthusiasts in the burgeoning NFT market. According to ORIGYN's Co-Founder Mike Schwartz, this further reinforces ORIGYN's open framework, supporting the seamless transition of global businesses to Web3 platforms.

Byron Becker, the Founder of CanDB, will collaborate with ORIGYN as an advisor and open-source manager for the CanDB software, aiming to further support CanDB users and expand outreach to developers and leaders within the Internet Computer ecosystem.
