Pantera Capital has acquired additional Solana tokens from FTX's bankruptcy estate, sources told Bloomberg. The exact amount purchased remains undisclosed, but roughly 2,000 SOL tokens were recently sold in a private deal. The transaction details were kept confidential, with the source opting for anonymity to preserve the transaction's privacy.

This sale is part of FTX's broader strategy to liquidate its significant holdings of Solana tokens, originally valued at $2.6 billion. Previous transactions involved Pantera and Galaxy Digital buying a substantial portion of these assets at discounted rates, which drew criticism from FTX's creditors seeking to recover their investments.

To recover a higher market price, FTX's bankruptcy estate has decided to auction off the remaining locked Solana tokens. The decision was shared by Mike Cagney, CEO of Figure Markets, on Twitter. The handling of FTX's distressed crypto assets has sparked a class action lawsuit led by Sunil Kavuri, who expressed discontent on Twitter about the sale of their property.

FTX, its sister entities, and affiliated firms, including Alameda Research and FTX.US, have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to initiate a structured process for reviewing and monetizing assets. The current focus is on disposing of 41 million SOL tokens, subject to a vesting schedule over the next four years. Recent sales have fetched prices higher than the $60 per token mark, signaling potential value recovery.

Despite FTX's bankruptcy setback in 2022, Solana has shown resilience, bouncing back with a remarkable 1,300% appreciation since last year. As of now, Solana trades at $143, with slight fluctuations in the past 24 hours and negligible changes compared to the previous week, according to CoinGecko data.

As the FTX estate continues its asset liquidation process, more auctions are anticipated. Official statements regarding the recent sale are yet to be released by Pantera Capital or the FTX estate.
