A security startup, Dilation Effect, has recently issued a crucial warning to crypto investors, emphasizing the importance of regularly restarting their mobile phones to avoid potential scams. This simple yet effective measure can significantly reduce the risk of attacks on mobile devices, which are often carried out through text messages or browsers.

The security firm highlighted that once an attack is successful, a malware known as Trojan is implanted. Restarting the device with such an attack history would require the hacker to rerun the exploit code, which would likely remove the malware. However, there are cases where the Trojan remains, indicating that the hacker has mastered the vulnerability in the system. In such cases, a weekly restart may be necessary to prevent further attacks.

Dilation Effect also recommended that iPhone users turn off their iMessage function permanently. This advice follows an initial article by the United States National Security Agency, which emphasized the benefits of restarting one’s phone at least once a week.

While the frequency of attacks has decreased compared to 2022, the tactics used by hackers have evolved, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for their operations.
