In a strategic partnership with the Composable Foundation, Picasso Network has unveiled an innovative move: the integration of the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol with Ethereum. This groundbreaking integration marks a significant leap forward in facilitating seamless asset and data transfers between Ethereum (ETH) and the Cosmos ecosystem, thereby enhancing cross-chain interoperability.

Henry Love, Executive Director of the Composable Foundation, expressed excitement about this milestone, stating, "By forging a connection between Ethereum and Cosmos through IBC and establishing Osmosis as the primary liquidity hub, we are laying the groundwork for a transformative era in decentralized finance (DeFi)."

The primary objective of this collaborative endeavor is to bolster the security of bridge operations while unlocking new avenues for liquidity and innovation across diverse blockchain networks, in alignment with the overarching goals set forth by the Picasso Network team for the year 2021.

Within the Cosmos ecosystem, Osmosis emerges as the designated destination for Ethereum assets, chosen for its pivotal role as a DeFi hub within the Cosmos (ATOM) network. Osmosis boasts robust liquidity pools, a comprehensive array of DeFi offerings, and a substantial contribution to the volume of IBC transactions, facilitating over $30 billion in trading volume.

Aaron Kong, Growth & Strategy Lead at Osmosis Labs, underscored the significance of this integration in enhancing user experience and functionality within the DeFi landscape. The integration endeavors to advance the vision of "IBC Everywhere," leveraging the IBC protocol's capabilities for secure and reliable cross-chain communication. This strategic approach aims to fortify security measures over centralized bridge solutions while fostering collaborative efforts between the Ethereum and Cosmos ecosystems.

In a separate development, the Cosmos Hub community recently voted to implement a 0% minimum inflation rate for the ATOM token in January. This decision was aimed at preserving the value of ATOM by mitigating selling pressure and eliminating security overpayments. The community's resounding support for this proposal, with nearly 95% in favor, underscores the collective commitment to safeguarding ATOM's value and ensuring sustainable growth.

Previously, the community had imposed a cap of 10% on ATOM's annual inflation rate to uphold its value, albeit at the expense of reduced staking profitability. Despite the adjustment in staking yields, validators remained profitable, demonstrating resilience in adapting to changing market dynamics while maintaining the integrity of the Cosmos network.
