Animoca Brands led a $3 million fundraising round for Puffverse, which intends to switch to Ronin and introduce a party game.

On Wednesday, Puffverse, a gaming project centred around NFT characters created on Binance's BNB Chain, revealed that it will move its collections to the Ethereum gaming network Ronin and introduce PuffGo, a play-to-earn party game, on the platform.

Puffverse announced a $3 million funding round in conjunction with the news of the migration.

The deal was spearheaded by Animoca Brands, a major player in the metaverse investing space, and included participation from Sky Mavis, the developer of Ronin, Arcane Group, Spartan Group, Foresight Ventures, HashKey Capital, and Xu Family Office.

The money will go towards the development of PuffGo, the company's main party game, as well as the building of a cloud gaming platform that will allow developers to create customised metaverse experiences.

PuffGo, a party game akin to Web2 hit Fall Guys that includes play-to-earn elements, will be the project’s first game to debut on Ronin.

"Moving Puffverse to the Ronin blockchain was a strategic decision rooted in our commitment to making our 3D universe more accessible to both Web2 and Web3 users," said Puffverse co-founder and COO Lya L, in a release.

PuffGo, a multiplayer party game enabling players to earn rewards, will be the first Puffverse title launching on Ronin. It offers user-generated content creation and upcoming AI tools for crafting game maps and metaverses through text commands.

Puffverse will take a snapshot of NFT holders on BNB Chain on April 29 and then airdrop the Ronin version of the assets to the wallets. The project plans to launch a PUFF token on Ronin this year, alongside a new NFT collection.
