The developer highlighted that Coinbase Wallet, a popular smartphone wallet recently optimized for DeFi usage, poses significant privacy risks that are often underestimated. Mishaboar emphasized that when Coinbase Wallet is linked to a user's account, it can lead to complete de-anonymization and the linking of transactions across various blockchain networks.

Privacy has long been a contentious issue within the cryptocurrency industry, especially with regulatory scrutiny increasing on trading platforms. While many users have shifted towards non-custodial wallets to maintain privacy, Mishaboar's warning suggests that concerns about tracking activities persist.

Data Collection and Centralization Concerns
