Following the release of last Friday's non-farm payroll data, which revealed stronger-than-expected job market gains but also a slight increase in the unemployment rate, market sentiment shifted towards a cautious stance. Investors exhibited a "risk-off" approach, withdrawing from riskier assets amid uncertainties surrounding inflation figures and the upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting.

QCP Capital noted a surge in bullish activity on their trading desk during this market dip, particularly witnessing sellers of aggressive puts and buyers of call spreads, especially in Bitcoin. This indicates a strategic move by market participants to capitalize on the temporary downturn in prices.

Bitcoin experienced a decline from its recent levels near $72,000 to approximately $69,000 following the release of the U.S. economic data. At the time of reporting, Bitcoin was trading at $69,424, while Ether displayed similar movements, currently priced at $3,673.

According to QCP Capital, the global trend of rate cuts, observed in central banks such as the European Central Bank and the Bank of Canada, may influence the decision-making process of the Federal Reserve. Despite forecasts indicating a high probability of the U.S. maintaining its current interest rate, QCP Capital anticipates continued market volatility as investors monitor the outcomes of the upcoming FOMC meeting.

CME Group's projections suggest a 99.4% likelihood of the U.S. maintaining its current interest rate range of 5.25% to 5.50%, contrary to expectations of further easing. However, Reuters' survey of economists suggests a potential shift in rates later in the year, with expectations of rate cuts beginning in September, aligning with QCP Capital's analysis.
