This unique satoshi, the smallest unit of Bitcoin, was mined during the fourth Bitcoin halving epoch and fetched a winning bid of 33.3 BTC on the CoinEx exchange platform.

The term "epic sat" refers to the first satoshi of each halving epoch, which occurs roughly every four years as the Bitcoin block reward decreases for miners. These "epic sats" are part of a numbering system called Ordinals, which ranks satoshis based on their rarity and importance in Bitcoin's history.

ViaBTC mined the special block, numbered 840,000, marking the beginning of the fourth Bitcoin halving and earning the coveted "epic sat." Starting with a bid of 1 BTC, equivalent to about $64,000, the auction saw intense competition among collectors and enthusiasts, driving the final bid to 33.3 BTC, worth $2,134,452.
