This lawsuit was formally submitted in the Northern District of California by the well-known law firm Scott+Scott. The plaintiffs represented in this case hail from the states of California and Florida.

According to the lawsuit, Coinbase stands accused of knowingly, intentionally, and repeatedly contravening state securities laws since its commencement of operations. In response to these serious allegations, Coinbase has released a statement refuting these claims as "lacking legal foundation."
