The auto manufacturer DeLorean has revealed its partnership with Otherlife, a Web3 creative agency specializing in digital design, web experiences, and technical strategy for Web3 and the metaverse. Otherlife, previously known as Nightshift, was acquired by Moonpay in January 2023. Together, DeLorean and Otherlife aim to establish a marketplace enabling the automaker's enthusiasts to purchase, sell, and trade vehicle reservation build slots.

Having collaborated with notable clients such as Microsoft, Mastercard, Arsenal FC, and Coinbase, Otherlife brings a wealth of experience to the table. DeLorean's announcement emphasizes that by harnessing blockchain technology, the company seeks to provide transparency and security in the reservation process, ensuring a seamless experience for customers. DeLorean asserts that a transparent and immutable ledger will offer buyers future insights into the history and performance of each vehicle with greater accuracy than any traditional platform currently available.

Ben Marquart, DeLorean’s chief technical officer, stated, “DeLorean has always been a pioneer in automotive innovation. Our collaboration with Otherlife, a trailblazer in Web3 solutions, reaffirms our commitment to pushing boundaries and embracing cutting-edge technologies.”

DeLorean and the digital creative studio have announced that the marketplace is expected to be fully operational by Q4 2024. The platform will be hosted on delorean.com, allowing current build slot holders to manage their active reservations. Additionally, new reservations for year two production will become available shortly after the launch.
