Comparatively, Chainspect reports that its real-time TPS stands at 26.8, peaking at 292 TPS.

In a comparison with Ethereum, L2Beat, an ecosystem analytics platform for layer-2 solutions, confirms that Base’s peak TPS is double that of Ethereum's, with Base hitting 37 and Ethereum at 14. This elevates Base to the level of established platforms like Solana.

However, the Base versus Solana debate continues, as Solana's reported TPS of 1000 includes a significant portion of failed transactions, reducing the actual TPS to around 400. Base faces similar scrutiny, with critics arguing that failed transactions aren't factored into its TPS metrics, leading to a notable disparity.

These debates intensify among supporters of Ethereum's layer-2 scaling solutions and Solana advocates, particularly fueled by Solana's recent issues with user experience, reliability, and transaction failures. Despite this, Base's network activity has surged in recent months, driven by a growing interest in memecoins.

On April 9, Base saw its total value locked (TVL) reach a record $1.5 billion, marking a remarkable 235% increase since the beginning of the year.
