The floods have completely displaced the entire population of Eldorado do Sul, transforming the city into a massive junkyard. The city's mayor is now living in his office after his home was submerged by the floodwaters. In addition to the immediate damage, the state is facing a severe public health crisis. The outbreak of leptospirosis, a zoonotic disease caused by bacteria in contaminated water, has exacerbated the situation. This disease can lead to serious health issues such as pulmonary hemorrhage, kidney damage, and meningitis.
