Ripple Labs recently warned its community about increasing scams affecting its ecosystem, which have been made worse by the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

The crypto payment platform, Ripple Labs Inc., reminded its community to be on guard against phishing links and Deepfakes in a recent cautionary statement.

In a video demonstration, Ripple showed how scammers are impersonating key figures within the company, such as its CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, by cloning their images, voices, and gestures to deceive unsuspecting victims.

To lure Ripple users, scammers promise XRP giveaways or programs that claim to double XRP holdings, with fake giveaways supposedly worth hundreds to thousands of XRP tokens.

Ripple Labs emphasized that the company will never ask users to transfer their XRP for doubling, and authentic messages will only come from official Ripple accounts.

Furthermore, scammers are utilizing AI tools to create deepfake videos impersonating Ripple executives, such as Garlinghouse, to deceive XRP holders.

While watching such videos, viewers may notice irregularities in mouth movements due to curated prompts fed to sophisticated AI models like OpenAI’s Voice Engine or Sora.

As AI technology continues to advance, detecting phishing scams or deepfake videos will become increasingly challenging for XRP holders, highlighting the importance of Ripple Labs' warning to raise awareness and prevent potential scams.
