Polygon Labs, the pioneering blockchain developer behind Polygon, has announced that Sandeep Nailwal, its co-founder and executive chairman, will take on an additional responsibility as the firm’s Chief Business Officer (CBO). This strategic move comes as Polygon continues to innovate and expand its suite of zero-knowledge solutions, including the Chain Development Kit (CDK).

In his new role, Nailwal will spearhead the strategic direction of Polygon’s zero-knowledge solutions, playing a crucial role in advancing the firm's mission to empower developers and enterprises with scalable, secure, and liquidity-enabled solutions. He will also be instrumental in the expansion of AggLayer, a decentralized network aimed at facilitating shared state and liquidity across different blockchain networks.

Nailwal expressed his enthusiasm for the transformative technology being developed at Polygon Labs, emphasizing the myriad opportunities it presents for developers and enterprises to scale rapidly and securely.

Polygon, originally known as Matic Network, provides a suite of scaling solutions that enable developers to build decentralized applications (dApps) with high throughput and minimal transaction fees. By leveraging sidechains and a Layer 2 zkEVM network, Polygon efficiently processes transactions, offering a more cost-effective alternative to the Ethereum mainnet.

Nailwal, alongside co-founders Jaynti Kanani and Anurag Arjun, established Polygon in 2017, driving innovation in blockchain scalability solutions. His appointment as Chief Business Officer marks another milestone in Polygon’s journey towards advancing blockchain technology.

Nailwal's expanded role follows his appointment as Executive Chairman of Polygon Labs in July 2023, coinciding with Marc Boiron, the firm's Chief Legal Officer, assuming the position of CEO, signaling Polygon's commitment to strategic leadership and innovation.
