SBI VC Trade, a subsidiary of Japan's financial giant SBI Holdings, has taken a significant step by launching a validator on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This move marks a crucial development in the company's involvement with the XRPL ecosystem. As of May 10, the node operations have commenced, and the validator service is now active.

SBI VC Trade's launch of the validator on XRPL signifies its commitment to the platform and its intention to play a more influential role in shaping its future. The company aims to become a dUNL (default Unique Node List) validator, which would grant it increased authority over amendments to the ledger. As a validator on the XRPL, SBI VC Trade will be responsible for verifying the validity of transactions, ensuring the integrity of the platform.

In addition to its validator launch, SBI VC Trade plans to educate the Japanese community about XRPL operations and amendments. The company will provide educational materials and gather feedback through surveys to make informed decisions on amendments. This initiative demonstrates SBI VC Trade's dedication to supporting the growth and development of the XRPL ecosystem.

SBI Holdings' involvement with Ripple and the XRPL ecosystem is not new. In January, the company announced its intention to issue NFTs on the XRPL, and last July, SBI VC Trade initiated campaigns to strengthen XRP's presence in the Japanese market. These initiatives are part of SBI Holdings' collaboration with Ripple, which led to the creation of SBI Ripple Asia, a joint venture that leverages RippleNet to offer remittance services across over 70 countries.

Ripple has also partnered with HashKey Group's Tokyo-based firm, HashKey DX, to launch business solutions powered by the XRP Ledger in Japan. This collaboration further solidifies the company's commitment to expanding its presence in the Japanese market.
