Intensity Labs, the developer of the innovative DeFi protocol Shogun, has successfully raised $6.9 million in a seed funding round, valuing the project at $69 million. This significant investment was led by Polychain Capital and DAO5, with notable participation from Arrington Capital, Maelstrom, Build-a-Bera, and esteemed angel investors.

Shogun's intent-centric approach aims to maximize trader extractable value (TEV) by proactively routing liquidity through a hybrid model of market makers, centralized exchanges, and decentralized exchanges. This pioneering protocol will provide users with a unified platform to access every token on every blockchain, eliminating the need for multiple wallets and accounts.

Co-founder Brandon Comer envisions Shogun as a web3 equivalent of fintech giant Plaid, enabling seamless DeFi integration for non-crypto companies. The protocol's phased release will commence with its on-chain routing tool in Q2 2023, accompanied by its native token, GUN. Shogun's interfaces will cater to various ecosystems, including Berachain, Cosmos, and Intensity Labs' cross-chain Telegram trading bot, Shogun Oakmont.
