Mert Mumtaz, Helius Labs CEO and a strong Solana advocate, announced this update on a social media platform, highlighting the timeline for the patch deployment by April 15.

Recent weeks have witnessed a surge in transaction failures on Solana, attributed to the network's popularity and increased activity from automated bots seeking arbitrage opportunities.

Austin Federa, Solana's strategy head, commented on the challenges, emphasizing the network's unprecedented traffic and demand that serves as a significant stress test. He noted that such stress tests allow for real-world performance evaluation and system adjustment.

Mumtaz clarified that the congestion issue is not due to a fundamental design flaw but rather an implementation error, which suggests a simpler rectification process. The problem is specifically linked to Solana's use of the QUIC networking protocol, focusing on the "quin implementation of QUIC."

While the fix is scheduled for April 15, potential additional issues arising during implementation may affect the timeline.

In addition to technical obstacles, Solana is facing economic factors contributing to its current predicament.

The network's ongoing challenges have led various crypto projects on Solana to halt their launches indefinitely due to the network congestion.

Staking rewards platform Surge Finance postponed its native token release until transaction success rates improve in the market. Similarly, Sky Hause, a real-world asset platform, delayed its staking feature launch, and myBID, an identity platform, also pushed back its release due to these network-related issues.
