In a shocking revelation, a notorious maximal extractible value (MEV) sandwich bot named "arsc" has been quietly amassing a staggering $30 million in profits from unsuspecting Solana users over the course of just two months. This stealthy operation has been expertly hiding its activities and profits, but the cat is now out of the bag.

The MEV sandwich bot, operating from three distinct wallet addresses, has been exploiting Solana users by skillfully positioning its own transactions around their transactions, manipulating prices, and capitalizing on the situation. The bot profits by purchasing the victim's tokens at a price lower than the market value and swiftly selling them within the same block.

The bot's primary wallet, labeled "9973h…zyWp6," holds over $19 million in total funds, including a significant amount of Solana tokens and Circle's USD Coin stablecoin. Another wallet, identified as "Ai4zq…VXKKT," is more active within decentralized finance activities, converting SOL into USDC and holding significant positions in various tokens. The third wallet, "BCbrp…vi58q," serves as the bot's "main SOL bank," employing numerous signers and tippers to execute the sandwich attacks.

The collective total of these three wallets stands at $29.8 million, with the operator behind arsc actively trying to maintain a low profile. "It seems they don't enjoy the attention, as they've recently gone to great lengths to hide their activities and profits," said Ben Coverston, the founder of cryptocurrency firm MRGN Research.

MEV sandwich bots rely on sophisticated algorithms to identify and exploit such profit opportunities. These bots have been observed on both Solana and Ethereum, with research suggesting that over $1.38 billion had been extracted from well-intentioned Ethereum users by April 2023. Earlier this year, a MEV arbitrage bot operator, known as 2Fast, achieved a profit of $1.8 million from a single transaction bundle.

The bot's ability to remain under the radar has allowed it to accumulate a significant fortune, but its actions are a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance in the world of decentralized finance.
