The non-fungible token (NFT) market has seen a resurgence after a two-month slump, with Solana and Polygon-based NFT collections leading the charge. Solana has now emerged as the dominant force in the NFT ecosystem, overtaking other blockchain networks in daily NFT sales.

According to data from CryptoSlam.io, an on-chain crypto market data aggregator and multi-chain NFT explorer, Solana-based NFT collections have seen a significant increase in trading volume over the past 24 hours. With a trading volume of $5.07 million, representing an 83% surge from the previous day, Solana has become the leading blockchain network in the NFT space.

Solana is an open-source blockchain that supports smart contracts, including NFTs and various decentralized applications. The sudden spike in trading volume for Solana-based digital items has propelled it to the top of the NFT market, a first for the blockchain network.

Ethereum, the second most-traded blockchain network, closely follows Solana with an NFT trading volume of $4.3 million. Polygon, an Ethereum scaling solution, ranks third with a trading volume of $4.2 million. During this period, Ethereum and Polygon NFT trading volumes have increased by 20% and 49%, respectively.

Bitcoin, once the former NFT market leader, now ranks fourth with a trading volume of just $1.5 million. Over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin-based NFT sales volume has decreased by 34% from the previous day, as the network lost its market hype earlier this year shortly after the halving event.

Several factors have contributed to Solana's sudden surge, including a significant increase in trading volume for its flagship NFT collection, Mad Lads. In the past 24 hours, Mad Lads has seen its trading volume jump by over 68% to $1.3 million.

Mad Lads, launched in April 2023, is an NFT collection from the Solana infrastructure development project Backpack. The collection features a limited edition of 10,000 NFTs hosted on the Solana blockchain network. Today, Mad Lads ranks as the top-selling NFT collection, outpacing other dominant collections such as Bored Ape Yacht Club and Milady Makers.
