A significant portion of the budget, 75.5 billion won (US$55.6 million), has been allocated to practical AI applications in daily activities, including mental health, pediatric diseases, and other critical medical issues. The investment aims to reduce health disparities and improve public health outcomes.

The government also plans to allocate 230 billion won (US$170 million) to develop safe AI technologies and build a talent pool for long-term innovation. This investment will support the creation of AI solutions that improve the performance of financial, healthcare, and justice systems, making cities safer and preserving public welfare.

South Korea is also investing in AI hardware device development to enhance its competitiveness in the global AI ecosystem. The country's telecom giant, KT, has allocated $5.3 billion for AI research and development, focusing on robotics and healthcare industries.

To ensure the safe development and utilization of AI, South Korea is developing a regulatory framework that aligns with global standards. The framework aims to foster trust and reliability in AI applications, enabling their efficient use in various areas of life, including public services.
