Stablecoin issuer Circle has formed a strategic partnership with Adan, a leading French digital asset association, in preparation for the upcoming implementation of the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework. Circle, the company behind the popular USDC stablecoin, has chosen France as its European regulatory base, citing the country's clear rules for responsible innovation and its robust entrepreneurial, tech, banking, and financial services ecosystem. Jasper De Maere, the Head of Research at Outlier Ventures, suggests that the MiCA framework may lead to the withdrawal of certain stablecoin providers from the EU market, potentially resulting in limited trading access, poor liquidity, and reduced access to crypto-native investment opportunities for European citizens.
