While having a session with my Productivity Coach, he revealed an important ingredient to staying productive and achieving my daily goals.

He said and I quote, "One of the things that will keep you winning will be your ability to know who to stay accountable to and who to compete with and there's nothing as tough as competing with oneself and so the need for an accountability partner."

That day, his words hit me differently.

In my coaching journey, I've heard a lot of teens engage in a lot of unhealthy competition.

As they always confess, "I want to be better than Auntie Ada, Brother Tony, Sister Grace," and the rest of the who they say they want to be better than.

One thing I've always made them understand is the need to know that no matter how the try, they can't be like those people because those people aren't static when it comes to their growth and so they are constantly working to be better people than they were yesterday.

To the Teens, I will always advise them to approach them (the people they feel the need to compete with) and ask that they look out for them in one aspect of their lives, either finances, personal growth, or the rest.

Some who do take the advice do come back to share their testimonies.

Competition is good only when you know who and what to compete with. However, staying accountable to someone; a wise person will help and guide you to knowing who to compete with, what to compete with, and when to compete.
