SubQuery Network, a provider of Web3 infrastructure, has launched two new decentralized Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs) for efficient data management on the Polkadot and Kusama networks, according to a statement shared with CryptoSlate on June 11.

These RPCs mark a first in the Substrate-based network ecosystem and will be operated by more than 30 independent Node Operators. This initiative aims to empower developers to build blockchain projects that operate efficiently and access data from multiple sources.

RPCs play a critical role in facilitating communication between blockchain nodes and external entities, enabling functions such as data retrieval, smart contract interactions, and transaction submissions.

By offering decentralized RPCs, SubQuery liberates decentralized applications (dApps) from relying on centralized middleware, thereby ensuring secure and efficient Web3 communication. This approach enhances operational transparency, crucial for the success of Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePINs).

James Bayly, COO of SubQuery, expressed excitement about deploying these RPCs. He highlighted the experience of the node operators in running RPCs across various ecosystems, underscoring their readiness to support Polkadot developers:

SubQuery initially began in the Polkadot ecosystem with an indexer connecting multi-chain architectures. It has since evolved into a leading Web3 data indexer, supporting hundreds of networks globally with decentralized indexers and RPC providers. This infrastructure enables dApps to access blockchain data without centralized dependencies.

Significantly, SubQuery’s technology has been integrated by major crypto entities like the OKX exchange, which incorporated it into their Layer 2 testnet in February.
