Sunbeam, the second phase of the Sunrise initiative for decentralized data, has been activated, marking the beginning of the upgrade phase.

In October 2023, The Graph ecosystem devised a strategy and committed to implementing it within the Sunrise initiative for decentralized data, offering all hosted service users the opportunity to upgrade their subgraphs to The Graph Network.

The upgrade phase commences immediately and concludes on June 12, during which hosted service users are required to migrate their subgraphs to The Graph Network. This transition is supported by new features introduced recently, including 100,000 free monthly queries and payment options via credit card or GRT. Additionally, gasless scaling is available for all hosted service subgraphs. Once the upgrade window closes, hosted service endpoints will become inactive. Scaling is made simple with just a few clicks, and the decentralized network rapidly boosts subgraphs.

The Graph serves as the backbone for decentralized data on the internet. Originating as the decentralized marketplace for subgraphs, The Graph has become the primary means for indexing and accessing blockchain data in the Web3 ecosystem. Since its inception in 2018, numerous builders have developed subgraphs for dApps across over forty blockchains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Celo, Fantom, Gnosis, and Avalanche.

With the increasing demand for data in Web3, The Graph is venturing into new territory, focusing on innovative data solutions and query languages to ensure that the decentralized protocol can accommodate every use case, present and future.

The Graph Network is overseen by The Graph Foundation, which, in turn, is governed by the Technical Council. The Graph ecosystem encompasses various entities such as Edge of Node, StreamingFast, Semiotic Labs, and others.
